DESCRIPTION: WW - Seiko "Captain Willard" Diver, ref 6105-8119, circa 1970s, automatic, 44mm x 48mm to lug tips, 19mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case with bi-directional dive bezel and locking crown, rubber strap, original black dial with applied silver luminous indices, date aperture at 3, 17J cal 6105, s#611006, triple signed. Famed for being used in the 1979 war epic Apocalypse Now, worn by Martin Sheen as Captain Willard, these plucky Seikos were quite popular with GIs in Vietnam due to their incredible durability and relatively cheap cost.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide; excellent dial with light discoloration on lumed indices; silver hands with even surface spotting and discolored lume; unpolished case shows light wear, still retains most of its original factory finishing, several light dings on bezel and case sides; original locking crown shows little wear, lock works as intended; glass crystal with several scratches and a small chip to perimeter at 1.
